American military personnel on active duty and in the Reserves who are planning to purchase or lease a 2010 or 2011 GM vehicle may wish to take advantage of a military discount. Find the details for money-saving deals offered by General Motors.

Who Qualifies for the General Motors Military Discount?

People serving active duty or in the Reserves and his or her spouse may qualify for the GM discount from any of the service branches, including:

  • Army
  • Navy
  • Air Force
  • Marines
  • Coast Guard
  • National Guard

In November, 2010, retired military personnel may also qualify for the program. Those who wish to cash in on the savings should present a “Go Code” and a military I.D. when first contacting the dealer. Dealers are offering the program on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis. Those who are serving overseas may be able to purchase a vehicle through a GM Certified Internet Manager.

The offer may be combined with other incentives in most cases, including:

  • GM Reward Card earnings
  • An extra $750 off for those who are USAA members
  • GM Mobility reimbursements

What Vehicles Qualify for the GM Military Discount?

Most 2010 and 2011 vehicles may qualify for the military discount, a preferred price that is less than the MSRP, including many new models of:

  • Chevrolet
  • Buick
  • GMC vehicles

Examples of potential savings include:

  • Save up to $1,500 on a Buick Enclave crossover
  • Save up to $2,200 on a Chevrolet Impala sedan
  • Save up to $4,200 on a GMC Sierra pickup truck

The vehicle does not have to purchased by Ally mobility financing programs available at local GM dealerships, but buyers may use that service and qualify for the program. Dealer demonstration vehicles with less than 7,500 miles on which a demo dealer allowance has not been paid may qualify for the discount as well. In order to qualify, the vehicle must be retained for at least six months from the date the vehicle is delivered. Up to two qualifying vehicles per year may be purchased with the military discount. Previously bought or leased vehicles will not qualify for the program.

GM Offers Discounts to American Military on Active Duty and in Reserves

U.S. military personnel and their spouses may find substantial savings when purchasing or leasing up to two qualifying 2010 or 2011 GMC, Chevrolet, or Buick vehicles at participating dealerships. This program that is designed to honor those in the military can be combined with quite a few other incentives for even bigger savings.
