ConsumerSearch claims "...at no point are our editors influenced by advertising or other commercial considerations." The organization investigates and recommends a variety of products. The company, a service of About dot com, provides on-line product ratings and reviews such as the “Best” snow tires, "Best" washer dryer combos, and the “Best” space heaters.

Presto Deep Fryer Consumer Reviews

The electric Presto Digital ProFry (est. $60) was designated “Best Large Deep Fryer” by CS in its mini review. The 1800 watt 9 cup model features include a removable basket, settings for four temperatures, and an “anti-splatter lid.”

Reviews of the ProFry give the model high marks for its ability to stay at a specified temperature setting. The safety features include a 30 minute timer, quick disconnect cord, LED signal light, and a sound alert when the oil is at the desired temperature.

The CS longer reviews lists the “pros” of the Presto ProFry:

  • Large basket.
  • Quick reaching of desired temperature.
  • Good ability to maintain temperature setting.
  • Digital thermometer control and display.

The only “con” listed by CS is the model “lacks an integrated oil drain.”

Amazon customer reviews (22 reviews) give the ProFry 4.2 out of 5 stars:

  • 10 owners awarded 5 stars.
  • 9 awarded 4 stars.
  • 1 awarded 3 stars.
  • 2 awarded 2 stars.
  • 0 awarded 1 star.

The Presto FryDaddy (est. $25) was designated “Best Budget Deep Fryer” by CS. The fryer has a 4 cup oil capacity, and “earns the best reviews overall of any model under $30.” The 1,200 watt model can cook four food servings, and reviewers say the FryDaddy is reliable.

Best Turkey Indoor Electric Deep Fryer Review

The Masterbuilt Butterball Professional Series Indoor Electric Turkey Fryer (est. $150) was designated “Best Turkey Fryer” by CS in their mini review. The model is unique because most turkey deep fryers are outdoor models and use propane. CS states the model “is the best turkey fryer according to reviews.”

The Masterbuilt fryer can cook up to a 14 pound turkey with only 2 gallons of oil compared with propane models requiring 3 gallons. The model comes with some helpful features:

  • Timer is digital.
  • Oil heat light.
  • Thermostat. Oil drain.
  • Lid that folds away.
  • Window for viewing.
  • Easy to clean.

The only downside mentioned is the model has only a 90 day warranty.

DeLonghi Electric Deep Fryer Reviews

The DeLonghi D895UX Roto (est. $100) was designated “Best Small Deep Fryer” by CS. The model’s rotating basket cuts down on food grease. The model can cook up to 2 pounds of food. Features include five temperature settings, in place lid when basket is raised or lowered, and the model comes with 2 filters. The only con listed by CS is “wet batters can stick to the fry basket.”

The ConsumerSearch mini reviews web page provides additional information about each of the four CS "Best” deep fryers. The mini reviews page provides links to longer CS “Our Analysis” reviews of the same deep fryers and provides additional links to outside sources reviewing the same models.
